Preliminary work has been completed on this historic French scenic wallpaper, which was originally printed using 1,148 individual woodblocks. The twenty panels (total width: 31feet), depict the Amazon rainforest as a backdrop for more than sixty-five varieties of exotic birds and butterflies in brilliant hues.
Carter & Company/Mt. Diablo Handprints plans to complete the reproduction of this extraordinary example of historic wallpaper by 2000, when it will be released in a limited edition.
